Study Leave

Throughout your career you may find a course that you would like to attend that is relevant to your role and may benefit the Company and yourself. In order for Scott Dunn to pay for the full cost of any personal development course it must be deemed beneficial both to yourself and the Company. Once you have found a course, you must create a proposal stating the reasons for which the course will benefit the Company and its relevance to your role. As these courses are relevant but not essential to your role, Scott Dunn will allow you 50% of the time needed out of the office for study and then the other 50% must be taken as either leave or unpaid leave by you. If you are working full time you are entitled to 18 days’ paid annual leave in each full holiday year plus public holidays. After each year of continuous service your holiday entitlement will increase by one day per year, up to a maxiumum of 28 days entitlement per year. Discova employees are entitled to compassionate leave in the event when an immediate family member or household member suffers a life-threatening illness or injury or dies.

Paid time off work on compassionate grounds will be granted in the event of a funeral. Long Service Travel Benefit - Travel Fund

After each year of service, you will have £500 (SGD equivalent) put into a travel fund. This will accrue each year and you will be eligible to use it once you have reached 3 years’ service and your fund is at £1,500 (SGD equivalent). You can put this money towards a Scott Dunn holiday which must include at least two nights’ accommodation. Your fund cannot be transferred to another person or used while you are in your notice period. After 10 years of service you will receive a one-off payment of £1,000 into your fund (which includes the annual £500(SGD equivalent)) as an additional thank you for your commitment and loyalty to the company.

Sabbatical Leave

Sabbatical leave provides FCTG employees with an opportunity to pursue outside interests, such as further work-related study, professional development, or relevant travel experience whilst still remaining employed at FCTG. You may be entitled to maximum 3 months of unpaid sabbatical leave if you have completed 5 years of service.

Long serving team members with 3 or more years’ service will be eligible to apply for an unpaid sabbatical leave of a maximum of 2 calendar months to undertake research, further education or travel. Both full-time and part-time employees with the relevant service are potentially eligible. The purpose of sabbatical leave will usually be linked to personal development outside the usual confines of the job, allowing the employee to return to work with new ideas and enhanced skills.

Volunteer Leave

All employees are entitled to 3 days of paid volunteer leave per annual leave year. This time is pro-rated for part time employees. This volunteer leave will be paid and will not affect your annual leave allowance. Your volunteer leave should be used during normal working hours, and you cannot take them in lieu of time volunteered outside of working hours. You will not be able to carry over any outstanding volunteer leave to subsequent years.
